JKBS celebrated Memorial Day, the 84th birth anniversary of its founder-chairman, Shri Govind Hari Singhania on 19th March 2021. He was a growth driver, a visionary, an industrialist, philanthropist, appreciated art and promoted education for all. Very gentle to talk and very firm in implementing his decisions, he was the President of ASSOCHAM and a sought-after leader for his extraordinary leadership qualities. He desired to build educational institutions imparting world class education, as he ardently believed that education determines the prosperity of a nation. He believed that righteousness, courage and patriotism, when combined together, make a strong and determined nation that nurtures character and moral values. All JKBians are very fortunate to be blessed with such a personality who has steered them. His vision, values and philosophy continue to guide and inspire everyone at JKBS in taking this institution ahead.
The whole idea to establish JKBS started in a meeting, way back in 2004. It led to identification of a piece of land and then establishment of one college, an institute and then the hostels. He is fondly remembered as an amazing industrialist who was connected to his employees, staff members, students and the larger Indian community. He was an amazing philanthropist, a manager, who was a very patient listener; he would listen to everybody and then arrive at the right non-negotiable decisions.
It was only under his leadership that India received investments from international investors with the propaganda of “Come and Invest in India”. About 20 years back, he had a vision to let global investors come to India and invest money here. He understood the idea of the global village very well; he thus, extensively travelled and invited professionals and companies to come to invest in India. As a visionary to have such strategic thinking ahead of time made him a ‘Great Leader’.
