The winters are brutal
The cruelty of humans is worse
But the coldness that lies within the hearts
Is what brings death and keeps humanity apart
I see life, it drowned the next day
I saw it as safe and warm
Then saw it was cold cuz it died the next day
To make up for it or to just keep the hope alive
I meddled with lives I had no control over
I tried to keep the fire burning
But the cold stone shooed it away
Reasoned with rationale
Seasons with experience
We boast of humanity
And still, fail and keep kindness at bay
Thoughts of it all scream in my ear
I say it’s not the hurt I fear
I fear attachment, losing myself at all
Only to find, I still don’t have myself figured out
I am still in the making, I will rise if I fall
And someday, hope would too
I hope for all.
