Dr SK Mahapatra, assumes office as Director General, JKBS & GHS-IMR on 1st Aug 2023.

Dr SK Mahapatra is a seasoned academic and corporate leader, with over 40 years of experience. He has led the Human Resource departments of Tata Metaliks, POSCO India, Jindal Steel & Power and Bajaj Power for over 12 years and has been the Director of two reputed Business Schools for the last 8 years. During his leadership tenure, all the organizations and Institutions have seen tremendous growth in business. He is acknowledged as a change & development specialist.

Dr Mahapatra is the Past President of the National HRD Network, BBSR Chapter, and a life member of both NHRDN and NIPM. He was felicitated at the silver jubilee function of the World HRD Congress as one of top HR Thought Leaders in India. He has been felicitated by CEGR as well as the ICCI as the Best Director of B-Schools in India. Under his leadership both the Institutions have been acknowledged as Best in respective regions. He has visited abroad on business many times including a visit to South Korea as part of a FICCI delegation of Leaders in Higher Education.

Dr Mahapatra is an alumnus of Hindu College, Delhi and holds a Masters Degree in Political Science from Delhi University, a Masters Degree in Public Administration from Sambalpur University and PGDM from MDI Gurgaon. He has also studied Social Welfare at IISWBM, Calcutta University, the oldest Management College of India. He has been awarded a doctoral degree by Utkal University 20 years ago while he was a faculty at Xavier Institute of Management, Bhubaneswar.
