Getting into the Green Scene an Initiative for Healthy, Holistic Growth by JKBS
At JK Business School, we believe that a clean, green and pollution-free environment provides a pristine backdrop for an effective learning experience. We have, therefore, left no stone unturned in the development of a green ecosystem to lend enrichment to the mind, heart and soul of our students.
All the avenues and roads within the campus are adorned with tall trees bearing emerald green leaves and beautiful flowers. Our campus has a low AQI value that acts as a green lung of sorts for students, faculty and staff.
Each year as the monsoon makes its appearance, the gardens within the campus are transformed into a blanket of green and attract a myriad of lifeforms. We also regularly organise green initiatives and educational programmes to spread awareness about environmental protection.
In a move that benefits both the environment and students, we introduced a 10-hour (1 credit) Green Credit Initiative, where students are split into groups of three to four. Each group is tasked with planting – and nurturing – creepers, herbs, flowering trees, fruit trees, shrubs, etc. As soon as the regular monsoon sets in this year, the groups will be hard at work creating gardens containing different plants.
In addition to its green initiatives, we encourage everyone to do their part to preserve the environment. Here are a few small things each of us can do:
The environment can only be maintained with our help. There is no second home and it’s important to be mindful of this. At JK Business School, we endeavor to make a positive impact by working closely with our students and faculty to spread awareness. We hope to remind everyone about the importance of keeping Mother Earth green and clean.
