JKBS enjoys power-packed placement season, highest salary peaks at stunning INR 15.5 LPA

 

JK Business School had a lot to cheer about with the placement season for PGDM, Batch 2017-19 scaling new heights. The B-School’s fresh graduates were placed across domains from Finance to Marketing with top brands including HDFC Bank, Jaro Education, Byju’s, and Berger Paints. The highest salary offered to a student was an eye-catching INR 15.5 LPA, while the average salary for the batch was a healthy INR 4.6 LPA. With handsome salary packages and interesting profiles under their belt, the new graduates of the management school will now start their careers on a high note.

Since its inception, JKBS has focused on nurturing future managers, who can become decision-makers and change leaders. The B-School’s efforts have won it several accolades including the 3rd spot in CSR-GHRDC survey and a position among the Top 51 B-Schools in India in IIRF Ranking 2019 by Education Post. The recognition takes into account the overall development of students through innovative learning experiences offered by JKBS. However, its stellar and consistent placement record has added to its reputation. With a dazzling placement record, this year has been no different.

A look at the placement statistics reveals that JKBS students have made their mark with recruiters across all domains. While CRM and Marketing / Finance have led the way with 20% recruitment each, students have been placed in interesting job profiles including Sales, Retail Marketing, and Operations. The recruiters included startups with dynamic opportunities, game-changers like BYJU’s and OYO Rooms, and leading companies like IndusInd Bank, Berger Paints, Calvin Klein, and Ameriprise Financial.

Arpit Bharti received the highest salary package of INR 15.5 LPA. He talks about initiatives like the Capstone Simulation Project and the IIMBx program that gave him the competitive edge. He says, ‘The pre-placement program at JKBS put us through the paces with guidance from alumni, faculty members, and industry experts. It gave me the confidence to bag this prestigious placement.’ Consisting of various stages, from resume assessment to group discussions and mock interview training, the pre-placement program is an important step in preparing students for the placement season.

At JKBS, the journey from classroom to boardroom involves a continuous process. Some important aspects of student grooming at the B-School include:

  • Industry visits, which offer exposure to the real-world business environment; students of Batch 2017-19 visited the establishments of Maruti Suzuki India Ltd, Parle G, and BSE, among others
  • Industry institute interaction sessions, which offer insights from experts; Mr. Simon Robertson (MD, R&D, Nestle India), Mr. Malvinder Mohan Singh (Chairman, Fortis Group) and other top names shared their diverse experiences on campus
  • Innovative initiatives like the Capstone Simulation project, which add a new dimension to learning; the Capstone Simulation project serves as a platform where students get to work with peers from different disciplines
  • The three-month IIMBx is an online certificate program in association with IIM Bangalore; by participating in virtual classrooms and learning from IIM B faculty members, students get to boost their knowledge and overall credentials
  • JKBS set a record for the summer internship drive, with all students of Batch 2017-19 getting placed with paid internships in over 30 companies including Decathlon and the Aditya Birla Group
  • JKBS boasts of a strong alumni network in India and abroad; the management school leverages this powerful resource of industry professionals and leaders to mentor students for the placement season and to create avenues for them to step into the corporate world

These concerted efforts have ensured that new names from PGDM, Batch 2017-19 will be added to the powerful list of JKBS alumni. Their placement is only the first step in the long and successful careers they have been nurtured to pursue by their B-School.
