Dr. Asmita Mahapatra brings expertise in sustainable consumer behaviour, experiential marketing pedagogy, industry-academia integration, rural market transformation and leadership-driven institutional development.
Dr. Asmita Mahapatra is a dynamic marketing academic with strong expertise in management education, research and student-centric academic leadership. She holds a Ph.D. in Marketing from the Indian Institute of Management Sambalpur and an MBA from the Xavier Institute of Management, Bhubaneswar. A Silver Medalist in BBA from the KIIT School of Management, she has consistently demonstrated academic excellence and intellectual rigor throughout her career.
She has taught extensively across Post Graduate and Under Graduate programs, delivering courses such as Marketing Management, Consumer Behaviour, Marketing Research, Integrated Marketing Communications, Product & Brand Management, Rural Marketing and Business Communication. Her experiential “Do-It-Yourself Marketing” pedagogy integrates live projects, case-based learning and industry exposure to enhance analytical thinking and managerial competence. She has also actively contributed to placement grooming initiatives as Faculty Coordinator, mentoring students in collaboration with her team to enhance employability outcomes.
Beyond teaching, Dr. Mahapatra is an emerging researcher with a focus on sustainable consumer behaviour, digital marketing, luxury branding and CSR-linked empowerment. She has presented research papers at leading institutions, including the Indian Institute of Management Visakhapatnam, the Indian Institute of Management Kashipur, XLRI Jamshedpur, and IIM Sambalpur and has participated in doctoral consortia. She has published in ABDC-indexed journals and actively contributes as a Resource Person in Faculty Development Programs and academic workshops.
She served as a CSR Project Manager at Drishtee Foundation under Vedanta’s CSR initiatives, leading women’s empowerment and livelihood programs across rural Jharkhand and facilitating the formation of over 340 Self-Help Groups. As Students’ Affairs Council Chairperson, she organized national and inter-college initiatives, firmly believing that students are the true brand ambassadors of any institution.
